Educational Estates

Since Starting in 2019 Gate & Bar has become the trusted development partner to a number of Educational Clients and are one of the leading educational consultants in Yorkshire. We have developed an industry leading School Condition Allocation approach (more info) along side our extensive experience and knowledge with CIF, SSICB, basic need and other funding streams. 

Gate & Bar are the only consultancy nationally to have successfully applied for and been awarded the School Rebuilding Programme for multiple schools within the same trust.

Conservation & Historic Buildings

Our experience within the conservation and heritage sector allows us to identify and advise on a range of Conservation lead matters including defects, restoration, and heritage assessment. Gate & Bar have experience providing conservation consultancy services for Listed Building Consent Applications and applications to the Historic Churches committee. Our experience within the conservation and heritage sector allows us to advise and deliver successful conservation projects, including Ecclesiastical projects across the region. Our team have the knowledge to monitor the progress of works to heritage assets to ensure projects are successfully delivered against programme, cost and conservation outcomes.

Health & Safety

A vital part of a successfully delivered project is a safe project Gate & Bar practically apply the requirements of the Construction Design & Management regulations (CDM15) to each project, whilst supporting clients to understand their responsibilities, expertly advising on best practice and supporting contractors to make informed choices.

Incorporated Membership to the Association of Project Safety (APS) gives us access to the latest industry guidance, standards, and support. The robust application process to the APS ensures the competency of every member.

We have experience in working with Designers and Architects often under their banner to discharge their duties as Designers and Principal Designers within the Construction Design and Management regulations (CDM15).

Modular & Off-site Construction (MMC)

Gate & Bar are industry leaders in the design and procurement of bespoke modular buildings in Yorkshire. Our approach allows us to competitively tender modular, off-site and MMC projects maximising the benefit of being located within the “off-site construction corridor” where many of the national modular contractors are based. We can procure modular buildings with flexibility, fantastic design and often providing better value for money than the national MMC frameworks.

We provide independent preconstruction advice on MMC feasibility, costs, programme, and design. We are often asked to appraise vs traditional construction.
